<< Elegance and simplicity

There’s an inherent quality about truth. It is both: simple and elegant

This is probably why it is so easy to lose sight of it in today’s world, many things are oversimplified and are made to look elegant. It’s just garbage in the end.

These fakes follow a design, for truth and beauty are by nature not that complicated

We are calibrated to know this, most of the time we already know when we’re facing a lie, it’s pretty much the same difference we get from touching something gold plated versus the real gold. This much has many great men, understood in history.

The reason why great truths are simple and elegant is because of the amount of work we put up to reach them. There’s an elemental understanding that the hand of the artist makes beautiful lines by virtue of the effort that is embedded into it.

Perhaps in the same manner simple tunes and notes make up the most complex and vast symphonies.

Many of the great truths however are simply absurd, they don’t seem to fit very much into our narrative, and fortunately they don’t really have to. We debate against these truths trying desperately to find patterns, shapes and forms that we can make sense of.

We are after all creatures of meaning, we attach our feelings and suppositions into everything  and make the fiercest attempts to reach beyond what our eyes see. And there, upon reaching that space we are faced with a simplicity so absurd that we are not willing to accept.

Resulting on the greatest irony of it all: that we choose to deny it!
